Tarif Awad joined Rebus Biosystems as Vice President of Scientific Affairs in 2021, bringing over 20 years of experience in the development and commercialization of multiple genomics platforms, and collaborating with scientists on basic, translational, and clinical applications. Prior to joining Rebus Biosystems, Tarif spent several years with Thermo Fisher Scientific driving strategic partnerships with test makers and global laboratory networks offering genomic testing for human reproductive health. He also worked for Sequenom and for Affymetrix in multiple technical and scientific roles. Tarif studied biology and music at UC Irvine, completed a PhD in Zoology at UW Seattle, and obtained postdoctoral training at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center.
